FATTORIA
DI PIETRAFITTA
We must recognize the merit of this firm
for having started the history of Vernaccia
di San Gimignano. After 1945 the Estate
was bought by Balbi-Valier Earls that were
the first to obtain the appellation controlèe
for the Italian white wine.
The current owners go on engaging for this
estate like in the past. All the production
is controlled with extreme care but one
of the most refined products, surely one
of the best in Italy, is the Vinsanto.
It is produced using the best bunches of
grapes from Trebbiano and Malvasia, withered
for some months in fit places. After the
squeezing, both the fermentation and the
aging occur in little kegs for a minimum
of five years. Offered to the consumer after
a refinement in bottle long about six months.
GIOVANNI
PANIZZI
At last! The Vernaccia of San Gimignano
Riserva '98 of Giovanni Panizzi achieves
the prestigious goal of the best Italian
white wines.
It is a great personal success of Giovanni,
shy and passionate vine-dresser, but it
is also a success of Vernaccia di San Gimignano
that is obtained in an important moment
for this wine.
FATTORIA
DI CUSONA
A parchment dated 994 attests one thousands
years of the Fattoria di Cusona, owned by
the family of Guicciardini Earls since 16th
century.
To celebrate this event the "Millanni
"is born, wine produced with the best
grapes in the estate, chosen and made wine
with the fit care to create a wine worthy
of such tradition.
VINCENZO
CESANI
Who knows well the Cesanis immediately realizes,
observing the expression of their faces
lined with tiredness wrinkles, that the
most important thing to them is obtaining
wines that every year get better.
The "Luenzo" 97, Sangiovese grapes
with a little colour, has reached the maximum
score among Italian wines.
CASALE
- FALCHINI
When in the far 1964 Riccardo Falchini decided
to start the viticulturist carrier, from
the beginning he realized that, to gain
an important place among the firms of San
Gimignano he had to take the chance of quality.
With these purposes he was able to give
a modern setting up to his production creating
rare wine like the "Canpora"95.
