Jacopo Biondi Santi could have chosen to maintain simply a glorious family heritage that dates back to the 19th century when his great-grandfather Ferruccio Biondi Santi created the Brunello di Montalcino. He is instead near enough to his ancestors enterprise to create new traditions with contemporary style wines that he cultivates in Tuscan Maremma.

LO “SCHIDIONE” 1997
The particularly good year gave grapes rich of extracts and fixed acidity. The grape harvest occurred in excellent times and meteorological conditions. The vinification and successive maturation in French barriques of woods from Troncais forest at average toasting of the three kinds of vines that constitute the Schidione 1997:40% Sangiovese,40% Cabernet and 20% Merlot has been separated and lasted 19 months.

The three varieties have been put together in a blending in steel vats for 4 months. Then there was the bottling and the necessary rest in a cellar. The attention over the cultivation ,the optimum grape harvest, the care over the grapes working ,the refinement methodology gave to the Schidione 1997 structure and elegance in a perfect balance of all its components making it a great kind and longevity wine


For the Italy Rare friends we have chosen this exceptional wine presented for the unrepeatable event of the arrival of the new millennium: a dark glass bottle of 1,5 litre for the best refinement and the optimum conservation of this harvest grapes that promises a great longevity, adorned by a gold serigraphy with the inscription "Third Millennium" and the sign of Jacopo Biondi Santi.

III MILLENNIO
The great personality and the very high quality of Schidione 1997 have deserved a particular and exclusive presentation. Then we took this opportunity to do research on original coats of arms of the two branches of the family to put the firm mark near to the historic reality.

The new mark from the Biondi Santi family coats of arms was created. After having been drawn and approved it we decided to use a particularly precious support: gold.

We created a label in 23 carat gold leaf of 3,5 g with a coat of arms drawing embossed, fruit of goldsmith mastery that mirrors completely the value of the contents and will stay after the tasting to fix in time memories and suggestions.

Each bottle is endowed with a certificate of authenticity that attests the property and there is a progressive number on sealing wax, it is packaged in wood box with a brand, closed by a plummet with the inscription "Schidione Third Millennium".
